Mistfall Hunter Ciphers Guide — Decipher, Forbidden Cipher & Keys

Ciphers are loot items with a riddle attached: collect one, read its words, and bring it to the right camp NPC to redeem the best reward. This guide covers the system, the full NPC word list, the hidden Forbidden Cipher, and Cipher Keys.
How ciphers work
Ciphers drop randomly from protected chests, as minion or boss drops, or from quests given by Soekja. Each Cipher shows a short line of riddle words at the end of its text — those words tell you which camp NPC to bring it to. At the bottom of that NPC's text box is a decipher option. Redeem it with the correct character the first time and you get the best reward; a wrong NPC gives less.

Tip: the word "Weaver" belongs to Dew — if a Cipher ends in Weaver, take it to Dew, not Sigrid.
Event ciphers
- Ashen Cipher — often claimed from launch mail; redeem with Sigrid for a Ripple Gem bonus.
- Golden, Ancestral, and Mystic Ciphers — appear during timed events; farm them while the event is live.
The Forbidden Cipher
The Forbidden Cipher is a hidden cipher type with its own NPC matches and rewards. It doesn't follow the obvious word table — players usually discover the correct NPC through community solving rather than a printed hint. Treat it as a bonus objective: if you get one, cross-check its words against the table above, and if nothing fits, it's likely the hidden type — ask in the community before redeeming so you don't waste the best reward.
Cipher Keys & the Dried Flower Knot
Separate from reward Ciphers are Cipher Keys, endgame progression items. The headline one is the Dried Flower Knot, a Legendary key that unlocks Einherjar Mode. Collect Keys when you're geared enough to use them.
